Our Trainers
We work with some of horse racing’s best trainers
All horses purchased will be selected by Paul Beshara, now retired multiple group one trainer. Paul has an extensive knowledge in identifying quality animals. Paul is painstakingly thorough in the selection process. All yearlings purchased will be trained by Phillip Stokes with operations in Adelaide and Melbourne. Philip is regarded as one of Australia’s leading trainers.
Additionally, Hope Eden is also reviewing the New Zealand racing industry to secure a series of “Ready to Run” horses that would be suitable to race and hopefully successful under Australian conditions. This undertaking will be done by Richard Cully, ex top Jump’s jockey and now a trainer in his own right and pre-trainer to a series of elite trainers at his Ballarat training complex. Richard has strong connections with the NZ racing industry having been a top jockey to major stables.

Paul’s forty years of experience as a racehorse trainer have given him an expert eye for a good horse, second-to-none, and he is a great asset to our team.

Phillip spent his early years with his parents on a cattle station knocking about with his brothers before discovering his passion for horses. His father had always had a close affinity with horses, and it was not long before a young Phillip was in there helping his father break in and educate the stations young horses.
His local and international knowledge has become invaluable in the way he approaches his training methods and passionately believes in having a hands-on approach when it comes to his horses.
Richard Cully’s Australian riding career started when he left Ireland for Australia in 2005. He has ridden for many successful trainers since.
His most famous horse to date, Champion ‘Wells’ trained by Kath and Craig Durden, Cully mentions is one of his most memorable moments. He’s also won a couple of grand annuals in Warrnambool.
Richard has turned to training and has some lovely prospects that will go over jumps. Richard is based in Ballarat.
